Stellar arts programming is not only our passion, but our promise to South Georgia. The AAAC sponsors the arts by utilizing the Carnegie Library as an art gallery for local and regional artists. We encourage community engagement by offering opening receptions for each exhibition; the openings and exhibitions are always free and open to the public and attended monthly by upwards of 200 people. We are happy to host a diverse audience from all parts of Albany and many surrounding communities with each exhibition.

CURRENT EXHIBITION

25th Annual Southwest Georgia Regional Fine Art Exhibit & Sale

The 25th Annual Southwest Georgia Regional Fine Art Exhibition & Sale, hosted by the Albany Area Arts Council, is the region’s largest and most anticipated visual arts event. Celebrating a quarter-century of artistic excellence, this juried exhibition features approximately 100 works by 50 artists across Southwest Georgia and the Southeast, spanning painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, and mixed media. The exhibition runs from June 5 through July 24, 2025, at the historic Carnegie Library Gallery in downtown Albany. An opening reception, including an awards presentation, will be held on June 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., welcoming the public to engage with the artists and their work. This milestone event continues the AAAC’s mission to foster creativity, community, and cultural enrichment through the visual arts.
