About The Exhibition

An Unfinished Life celebrates Femi Nilaja Anderson’s extraordinary talent and dedication to the arts. Her works reflect her passion for capturing life’s most intimate moments and promoting cultural enrichment. The exhibition, curated by Bummi Anderson, the late artist’s twin sister, includes some of her most celebrated pieces, spanning photography, graphic design, and paintings, inviting viewers to connect with her unique artistic style and her contributions to Albany’s art landscape. Through this exhibition, we pay tribute to an artist whose influence continues to inspire and uplift.

About The Artist

Femi Nilaja Anderson was an influential artist and community leader in Albany, Georgia. A graduate of Albany State University with a Fine Arts degree, she dedicated her life to promoting art, culture, and mentorship. As co-founder and executive director of Renaissance Connection Inc., Femi worked tirelessly to foster a deeper appreciation for the arts in her community. She also ran the Renaissance Art Café, where she brought people together through art classes, team-building events, and cultural activities. Known for her vibrant personality and leadership, Femi left an indelible mark on the lives of many. Although her life was tragically cut short in 2020, her legacy continues to resonate throughout our community.

The Albany Area Arts Council in partnership with Ibeji Media and EJD &D Associates is hosting the exhibit, An Unfinished Life: The Works of Femi Nilaja Anderson.
